Two masterful figures in the world of music have come together, to breathe life in unforgettable works of violinist and composer Fritz Kreisler. Cihat Aşkın and Jerfi Aji’s magnificent interpretations bring to life this selection of Fritz Kreisler’s most beloved compositions. This special album will be available to listeners on all digital platforms under the KALAN MUSIC label on 22 September.
Jerfi Aji – Cihat Aşkın
Fritz Kreisler, an Austrian-born American violinist and composer, is widely regarded as one of the most esteemed names in the world of violin. His sweet tone and enchanting melodies touch the heart of music. His innovations in 20th-century violin technique and style, in particular, influenced and inspired many artists such as Heifetz, Oistrakh, Stern, and Perlman.
Kreisler not only composed for the violin but also rearranged the works of old masters, making significant contributions to the violin repertoire. He initially presented his own compositions as if they were from the Baroque era. However, when this deception was later revealed by himself, he was quickly forgiven thanks to his honesty and good intentions. Today, violinists around the world keep his legacy alive by playing and reinterpreting his works.
